The human face in 100,000 years and why it might change

Mother Nature Network has an article on speculative work by artist Nickolay Lamm and computational genomics expert Dr. Alan Kwan. They started with the question: “What do you think the human face might look like in 100,000 years and why?” and offered their view of how mankind MIGHT adapt over that time.

Faces of the future - larger eyes and possible skin and hair changes.

If you're writing far future fiction, this is worth a read. It's also a bit freaky. One of the reasons I don't watch anime is I just dislike the way the people look. It isn't natural and I find it nearly inhuman. But if Lamm and Kwan are correct, those artists might be ahead of their time.

To add my own two cents: when humans begin to live in space, in such cramped quarters, it won't just be our heads that change. Our bodies will adapt as well, with the average getting shorter and thinner. Less muscle and skeleton to maintain. Probably genetic engineering to lower water requirements.

What other ways might humans change in that time?
