IFTF: Feral Zones

MendikostanIFTF blog posted this Artifact from the Future (click the thumbnail to see the full image on their site). I'm of the opinion that self-driving vehicles will eventually be forced upon us due to the expense of insuring our vehicles with a higher fee when we take over the driving. This points out there may be regions of the country dangerous enough (violence, theft, road conditions) our insurance companies would revoke coverage when the GPS signals our entry into such a zone.

Makes me wonder if Google Glass type technology would signal an end to our health insurance or maybe higher deductibles when we are in a high-risk zone (rock climbing, ski slopes, bear country).
